Hi I'm Brent

I want to be a chemical engineer, love to read and debate, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As the second child of ten, I love being together with family and friends playing games, reading, camping, learning new things, social activities and lots of homecooked food. I love science and mathmatics, making my major in chemical engineering very enjoyable. Right now all of that is on hold as I serve a 2 year full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

Born and raised a mormon I was never really challenged about my beliefs until high school. There I encountered people that were interested to apathetic to hostile to sincere. In the environment of high school I really had to search for answers to their questions, as I searched for answers -in the scriptures, from church leaders, and especially through prayer- the belief that I had grew into knowledge about the Church. The environment of high school prepared me for the more turbulent waters of college, where again I had to defend my beleifs and standards. In college I was able to see the live that I might have had without the Gospel and church in my life, and I was happy with the knowledge I had gained, and the blessings that I had expeirenced. All of these experiences solidified my desire to serve a full time mission for the Church. I know that Jesus Christ lives, He is our Savior and Redeemer. Only through his merits, mercy and grace can we return to live with our Heavenely Father. I have joy as I live His gospel, learning how to be a better person through experience. I know the only way to find true happiness in this life, and eternal life in the world to come is through Jesus Christ, and becoming like him.

How I live my faith

Now I serve as a Full Time Missionary. For two years, I wear a name tag as a personal representive of Jesus Christ. As as Missionary, I invite people to come unto Christ. Missionaries help people learn about the life of Jesus Christ, His teachings, and His church. In the Past I have served as an advisor to 16-18 year old boys. I helped out with scout camps, preparing and completing Eagle Scout Projects, Mission preparation, and was a friend. One of the most fulfilling summers of my life was spent working these youth, helping them learn and grow.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Right here on this site, with a Missionary Request you can ask for missionaries to come right to your house. Or if you see a missionaries walking or biking around town, just yell ELDERS!! that usually catches our attention.  Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Prophets here in the Americas, before and after the coming of Christ. Just like the Bible. Just as prophets in Jerusalem and the surrounding areas wrote their revelations and prophecies, prophets in the Americas did the same thing. The records of these prophets were compiled by a prophet-historian, named Mormon, after whom the Book of Mormon is called. Because the Book of Mormon was written by prophets called of God, you will find that it contains the same message as the Bible. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Mormon Missionaries will talk about Jesus Christ, His life and teachings, They will talk about the Church that He established here on the earth, how that Church was lost as the people rejected His Gospel and killed His Apostles. And most importantly of all, Missionaries will testify of the restoration of that same Church. Through modern, living prophets, our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, restored the church again to the earth. Missionaries will make mighty claims, and will back them up with mighty evidence. This evidence is the Book of Mormon Another Testiment of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is evidence of a loving Heavenly Father, a testimony of His Son Jesus Christ, and proof that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. Missionaries will ask you to make commitments to read The Book of Mormon, to pray about its message, and live your life more in accordance with His Teachings.   Show more Show less
