Hi I'm Tami

I live in Colorado, I'm newly married and I love my life!

About Me

I grew up in Hawaii and learned a lot about the culture. I was recently married to my husband and moved out to Colorado. I love the seasons and how beautiful it is here. My husband and I met when I was only 16, he being 17 at the time, in Hawaii. We became good friends instantly. I invited him to my Junior prom and we had a blast. It was then we started realizing we wanted to become more then just friends. Through the years we had a long distance relationship and learned so much from each other. He served a mission for our church and I supported him through it. He came home and we were about to get married when I too, decided to serve a mission. So, after seven years of dating, we are finally married! It is so incredible to be a wife and in years to come, a mother! I love this life and look forward to every moment!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this gospel is true. How do I know that? Through earnest and sincere prayer. The Holy Ghost has witnessed to me that this gospel is true through feelings of peace and joy and everlasting happiness. It's hard to describe, but it's something that you just know. Through this gospel I've been able to understand my relationship with God, how He is our Eternal Father and we are His children. Because He loves us so much He made a way that we can come back to Him. That's our goal, to be with our family forever; to be with our Father and His Son again; to be happy in this life. Through Jesus Christ, and how He lived His life, He showed us how we earnestly strive to live ours. We're not perfect as He is, but because He lived that perfect life, suffered for our sins in Gethsemene and died on the cross, we can make it back to Him. I love my Savior and what He's done for me. This gospel brings me such joy and peace in this life that is indescribable and I ask those reading this, to try it out for yourselves, see how you feel. I know the spirit will whisper to your hearts of the truth, as it has whispered to mine.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the gospel, striving to continue to be like Jesus Christ. Because we believe we are all brothers and sisters in the Gospel, we visit members and uplift, help and serve them. I also help teach gospel principles that we strive to follow to people of all ages. I strive to share the gospel with those that I meet and learn and grow with those around me. I'm not perfect, but I strive to be someone that Christ would have me be.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Tami
EVERYONE is welcome in a Mormon Church service! Our first hour we have the opportunity to sing hymns reverently and feel the spirit. We are blessed to hear from different members of the congregation about different gospel topics. What I think is amazing about this is that, we believe we are all sons and daughters of God and we are here to help eachother reach our full potential, reach our goals; that's why we learn from eachother, uplift eachother, and strengthen eachother. The most important part about the first hour is the ability to partake of the sacrament. Just as Jesus Christ performed the last supper where each of the disciples partook of the sacrament, we partake of the sacrament as well. It is for everyone, baptized or not, for us to reflect the life of the Savior and our commitment to strive to be better. As a simple analogy: I run on a battery, and after all that I do in the week, my battery runs low. As I come to church I recharge that battery. I need recharging all the time! Show more Show less
