Hi I'm Dan

I am a husband, father, dentist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to a beautiful wife and a father to two wonderful girls. I am a Dentist by profession. I like to spend time with my family most of all. We like to have dinner together, read together, play piano and guitar together, hiking, camping, roller skating, biking, and walking our dog.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother and father are Mormon, so I was raised Mormon. Growing up Mormon consisted of going to church on Sundays, helping my family, serving others in the community, scouting, playing with my friends, working hard, and most of all-being very happy as a family. At age 19, I decided that I wanted to be a missionary for my church. I went to South America for 2 years. Imagine a 19 year old who didn't know Spanish in South America! It was there that I came to know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God, that this is God's true church, and that the Book of Mormon is true. This is my message to you God lives, His Son-Jesus Christ is my Savior, His church is here today and guided by a prophet and twelve apostles, and me and my family can be happy in it and be together forever because of it.

How I live my faith

I try to teach my daughters to be good people who believe in God. My time with them is spent learning the Gospel of Jesus Christ and practicing its principles within a loving family environment. I volunteer in my local church as a missionary leader helping to invite others to know about the Book of Mormon and about us as a people.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Yes, we love the Bible. We believe that it is the word of God given to His chosen prophets. We believe as Amos says, "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." (Amos 3:7) We believe that God's pattern for revealing His word unto us is through His prophets. Show more Show less

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is similar to the Bible in the fact that it is a collection of writings of the prophets that lived on the American Continents, while the Bible is a collection of writings by the prophets that lived in Jerusalem and the surrounding areas. Since both are written by God's chosen prophets, they each teach of Jesus Christ, his role as Savior, His atonement, ministry, and church. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that families are divine-that a father, mother and children are essential to God's plan for our growth and happiness on this earth. The family should be a place of refuge, love, service, guidance, and joy. Show more Show less

Who are the Mormons?

Mormons are followers of Jesus Christ and the church and principles he established when he came to this earth. We believe that Christ organized His church when he came to the earth, that He, His church and His leaders were rejected and His church and authority were lost for some time. We believe that Christ restored this same church to the Prophet Joseph Smith, and that this same church exists today. Show more Show less
