Hi I'm Pamela

I believe "as a man thinketh in his heart so is he." I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 4 boys and 2 girls. I love being a full time mom. In our house we are very involved in sports and music. We play softball, volleyball and one of our sons plays basketball in college. I play the piano for my husband who loves to sing. For 14 years, I was a breastfeeding counselor with La Leche League and was able to help moms with their babies. I love to read and do anything with scrap booking paper except scrapbook! I helped form a book group where we discuss how our thoughts and beliefs affect our lives on a daily basis. I graduated from college in the field of Dental Hygiene.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ and I want to show my gratitude for all they have given me. When I follow God's commandments I am happy and have a great amount of peace in my life. The Church and it's teachings help us so much in raising our children in the manner we desire. We want our children to be morally clean, honest, kind, unselfish, helpful to others, positive, educated and many other things. We couldn't do this nearly as well without the good influence of the church and it's members. Most parents in the church have the same values as we do and it is a big support. I love reading the scriptures and feel the New Testament provides excellent parenting advice. I can't think of a better example of how to act toward others then is demonstrated by our Savior. The church is very good at teaching practical values as well. We are encouraged to get out and stay out of debt, prepare for emergencies, learn as much as we can about the world around us, strengthen our family relationships, serve others and be involved in the good things of life. I know that God and Jesus Christ love me and I have felt their spirit in my life during trials and as I read the scriptures. I have often had answers to prayers for which I am most grateful. I know we have a living prophet on the earth today who guides and directs us. I know The Book of Mormon is the word of God, as well as the Bible, and it's concepts and principles are true. I know Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth for our benefit and to bring us joy. These are a few of the reasons I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I feel it is important to get involved in the community where one lives. For this reason, I volunteered my services as a breastfeeding counselor for many years. I enjoyed helping mothers and babies get off to a good start. I also have worked in my children's classrooms. I make it a point to vote for every election and pray for our political leaders. Recently, I was in charge of the children in our congregation from ages 18 months to 12 years old. They were taught gospel lessons, good values and songs about our world, families, God and etc. (This took place on Sundays). We had quarterly activities during the year as well. Presently, I work with the women in our congregation and help them as needed.
