Hi I'm Ken

I'm a licensed civil engineer, own a 1966 Chevy truck, lived in Japan for 22 months and used to build houses. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have 5 children and 9 grandchildren who are tender mercies in our lives. I work for the Utah Department of Transportation as the Maintenance Planning Engineer. It's such a fun job I may delay retirement when I get to that point. I like to garden, follow college sports, host backyard movie nights and do family history. I inherited my 1966 Chevy truck from my father in law and love tinkering with it to make it look better and last longer. I also spend WAY too much time in front of Mecums Auto Auction drooling over all those gorgeous classic muscle cars that graced my high school parking lot way back in the day.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God knows I exist and that he knows I have covenanted to follow His plan. I'm a Mormon because I know God's plan for his children is fully contained in the church doctrine. Other religions have some parts of His plan, But I want it all, and know I have it in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

My faith is all about how to find joy in family relationships and how to ensure those relationships will last beyond the grave. Our Heavenly Father, who is the father of our spirits, has provided a plan that He invites us to follow. It is referred to in the Book of Mormon and in our faith as the "Plan of Happiness". My mother, father, siblings, wife and children are tender, merciful gifts from Him. I'm also very aware of the influence my ancestors have had on my life. Through their decisions, I have the opportunities of the past and present. So, I live my faith by trying to follow the "Plan".

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Ken
Here is the Official Church Answer God is perfect, all wise, and all-powerful the ruler of the universe. He is also merciful, kind, and just. He is our Father in Heaven. We are created in His image Genesis 127. He has a body that looks like ours, but God’s body is immortal, perfected, and has a glory that words can’t describe. Because we are His children, He knows and loves each of us individually. He has a plan to help His children find joy in this life and return to live with Him when this life is over. I would also like to add to official answer that because of His love for us he DELIGHTS to bless us. But he won't force Himself on us. We have to choose Him and His plan. Show more Show less
