Hi I'm Jorge

I grew up in Utah, my parents immigrated from Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Family is very important to me. When I was young I was always happiest at home, surrounded by my brothers and sisters. I was fortunate to have great parents who loved me and cared about my future. Today I have a family of my own, five children in all. I am happiest when I am around them. Eventhough life is full of challenges and struggles, I can always come home and find acceptance and love. Happiness is homemade. Being a mormon has helped me realize that families can be forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it helps me prioritize what matters most in my life. The teachings of the church help me understand how to build family relationships. I have also seen the great impact it has had on my family. My grandfather at an early age was orphaned and homeless. He grew up on the streets. Unfortunately overtime he became and alcholic. Then one day he heard the message of the Mormons and soon changed his life and made a better one for his children and grandchildren. His priorities changed and he gave his family his time and devotion.

How I live my faith

One of the key ingredients of happiness in life is to give of your time to another. I have had the opportunity to help others through church service. In the past I have worked extensively with the youth of the church and spent time with them in campouts, youth activities, and outings. I have spent time with young men, sometimes late into the night, talking about their lives and dreams. As I given my time to them, I came to love them and become deeply involved in their lives. I also had an opportunity when I was young to serve a mission and to move to and live in southern california. I was great to spent time and develop relationships with spanish speaking people in areas life East Los Angeles, Burbank, North Hollywood. On a mission you develop friendships that will last forever.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

In a world of shifting values and confusion, the church teaches and adheres to time tested principles that never fall out of favor or are considered old fashioned. Good people everywhere are seeking for truths that are fixed and foundational. Safety is found in these basic principles that truth seeking individuals find satisfying and reassurring. As individuals and families understand these basic powerful truths they feel safe in a world of situational ethics. Basic truths lead to true freedom and happiness and ultimately a peace which surpasseth understanding. The Mormon faith teaches and sustains basic principles that were taught by Jesus Christ and His Apostles. These truths will lead individuals and families to safety and peace. This is one of the primay reasons for church growth. Show more Show less
