Hi I'm Gary

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Southern Alberta, but raised in Northern Montana. I have lived in Montana all my life.

About Me

I was raised in Northern Montana near Glacier Park on a ranch. My brother and I did a lot of work on the ranch. We hauled hay, farmed , built fenches, basically everything. We learned a lot and had some grand adventures. I don't live on the ranch anymore but I do remember the things I learned there. I don't shy away from anything just because its a lot of work. Work is a wonderful thing. It helps you feel good about yourself.

Why I am a Mormon

My Mom's family were members of the LDS church. My Dad was a methodist growing up but, after some time and ivestigation of his own, joined the church. There weren't very many members of the church where we lived, but I was always eager to learn and participate. I always wanted to go on a mission for the church and after high school I was able to go to Scotland and Northern Ireland on a mission for two years. I enjoyed my mission but it was very demanding. When you are in a foreign land teaching people about your faith, you soon learn exactly what you, youself believe in. Because of my backgroud, because of my willingness to learn and serve and ask the Lord what I should be doing with my life, I have gained a spititual assurance that the church is of God and is His path provided for us to return to Him in the life to come.

How I live my faith

My faith has taught me to be honest and decent in how I deal with my fellowman. At times in my life I've had setbacks and failings but because of my inner committment to my faith I al.ways seem to get back on that track. The church teachs that to be truly happy we must serve others. The church doesn't believe in having a paid clergy so we all get to take part, if you are willing, to operate and administer the church (serve others). I've felt it a great privilege to serve in different positions in the church. In serving others, we get to serve the Lord.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Gary
The LDS church believes that God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ are separate and distinct individuals with glorified ressurected bodies. The Holy Ghost is a spirit being that testifies to our hearts of spitual truths.  Show more Show less
