Hi I'm Lori

I'm a very busy mom, step-mom, grandma, a wife and a nurse and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother. I have five children of my own and three step-daughters. Their ages range from 26 down to one year old! We also have two beautiful grandsons. Life is great with all these unique individuals to enrich my life. It is always interesting that is for sure! I went through a divorce several years ago. I was for a time, a single mom with four small children. I worked and I was slowly putting myself through school with the goal of becoming a nurse. During this journey I met a fine fella who shares my goals and priorities. We married, an amazing second chance for us both. My husband often says to me, "We done good honey." Several years after we married, and in my last semester of nursing school (of course), we were blessed to discover we would be adding another child to our crew. Actually it was more like WHAT!?!? We are grandparents, this can't happen! But it did and we embraced and adore the special life we are blessed to now know. Wouldn't change it for all the money in the world. Life is GREAT! Life is busy though. I work full time as a nurse. I manage only because I have a great family, including my mom, who all pitch in to make sure everything that needs to get done does. We are happy. We laugh and tease and sometimes fight, but we love each other and....well... this is what life is all about. I feel so blessed. I know who I am, where I come from and where I am going and I have great company for the journey. It is these simple things that bring me joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church. I always knew it was true and always found solace and comfort in prayer and scripture study. When I was in my late 20's though, I found myself wondering what else was out there. Was this the true church? Is God was really there? I went on a search. I read and prayed, pondered and investigated. I will never forget the moment I knew, the moment in quiet prayer when the answer came to my heart and peace was found. I know it is true. That is why I am a Mormon. It is not an easy thing to be in this world and if I did not KNOW it I would not be it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day by trying to make the world around me better. I have a desire to make others feel good and to have true joy. I have served in the church in various positions but currently I am hoping get to fulfill a "Service mission" for my church. I will be working along-side individuals with addiction challenges in my community. I also teach an adult class on Sundays.
