Hi I'm Willie

I am a father of three, I'm a graduate student, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three boys. My hobbies include golf, racquetball, reading, and spending time with my wife and kids. I'm also a graduate student working on a PhD in Electrical Engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because the church makes sense to me in my head, and feels true in my heart. But more than that, I've found that if I really study the scriptures daily and try to apply them to my life that I am happier. My family is happier too, because I'm a better version of myself. Finally, the main reason I am a member of this church is because God answers prayers, and he answered mine when I asked Him about the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I teach a class to 9 and 10 year olds every Sunday and try to help them see that the scriptures have real meaning and application in their lives. I also visit other members of our local congregation on a regular basis in order to make sure that their families are doing well. Besides these, each day provides opportunities to live my faith, by simply being nice to people, smiling, and being courteous. Civility goes a long way.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Absolutely. In fact, I've found a direct correlation to following our prophet's counsel and personal happiness. My faith in God and Jesus Christ grow by listening to and following direction from our prophet. Show more Show less
