Hi I'm Pam

I'm a wife, a mother, a knowledge-seeker, an individualist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother. I am multi-cultural; my father is African-American, and my mother is Korean. I work part-time outside of the home, and also own my own home-based business. I spend my free time reading, volunteering at Church and at my children's schools, and helping my grandmother. I am an individualist to the core, and love the freedom that following the teachings of the Gospel brings to my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My family began taking lessons from Missionaries when I was nine. After the first lesson, the Missionaries offered a prayer. During the prayer, I had an overwhelming feeling of peace and comfort. That day I gained an unshakable knowledge of the truthfulness of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. From that day forth, no matter my trials, I always knew my purpose and the plan Heavenly Father has for me.

How I live my faith

I love the Gospel, and have been blessed to be able to share my love and knowledge of the Gospel through teaching at Church. I have spent the majority of my adult Church service in our children's organization as a teacher and leader. I have also had the opportunity to teach and visit with the sisters through our women's organization in Sunday meetings and through our sheparding program. I also enjoy teaching the Gospel to my family as we read and study the scriptures together.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Pam
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is one of the most beautiful principles of the Gospel. Our Heavenly Father knew that we would be separated from Him in this life, both physically and spiritually. To overcome these separations, a sacrifice had to be made, as a mediation, by one who was sinless and worthy. That was Jesus Christ, His Only Begotten Son. He not only gave His life for us to overcome death, but He bore the pains of our lives to overcome our sins. To better meet our individual needs, He bore not just the pains of our sins, but all our sufferings-- physical, spiritual, and emotional. Through repentance and acceptance of the Atonement, we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again. The Atonement shows us the unconditional love of both our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Pam
The Church was founded by Jesus Christ, when He was on the Earth, the followers being called the saints. After His death, His apostles taught His gospel until they were all martyred. At that point, the fullness of the gospel and the Priesthood which the apostles held were taken form the Earth. The Church of Jesus Christ was restored by Joseph Smith, through the direction of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It is the same as the primitive Church during Christ's earthly ministry. As the Restored Church in this dispensation of time, it is called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Show more Show less
