Hi I'm Alyssa

I am a fashion designer. I love being with family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be doing something. I enjoy running, playing sports, traveling and playing the piano. But, what I really love is sewing. I studied at BYU-Idaho in Apparel and Design. I love to do pattern work, design and sew clothing. I love the feeling of accomplishment and creativity in sewing and design. Family is very important to me. I love them! I enjoy traveling with them on family vacations and talking around the kitchen table or family room. I especially love it when we laugh together. I served as a full-time missionary in the St. Louis Missouri Mission. I love sharing the gospel and talking with people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found happiness here. I am taught to pray, that God answers prayers, to find answers and a personal witness of truth. I have taken the challenge and have found this is His Kingdom on the earth. God still speaks to man today. I have great worth and God wants me to return to Him someday. I am a Mormon because I have received answers to my prayers. I feel peace as I read the Book of Mormon and as I study. As I live what I learn it molds me into a better person.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing as the fourth Article of Faith states. By exercising faith through personal and family prayer, personal scripture study, attending church and trusting the Lord that all things will work out. I repent or change when I know I did something wrong or can make changes to become better. I go to church every Sunday and renew my promises I made with the Lord by partaking of the sacrament. I pray to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost or His Spirit to guide me in the decisions I make. I try to find opportunities to help other people. I like to help people be happy and to feel loved. I consistently strive to live this way. I also have lived my faith in being a youth counselor for a summer camp, leading the music in our church meetings and visiting the girls in our women's organization.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Alyssa
Through obedience to what He has commanded us. Experiment upon what Jesus Christ has taught. As we are obedient we come to know Him and exercise our faith. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

Alyssa
Authority for man to act in the name of Jesus Christ and be an instrument in His hands. Through the Priesthood power we can be baptized and be cleansed from our sins, we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, we can receive guidance through father's blessings and partake of the sacrament for a renewal of our promises with God and have our sins washed away. What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Alyssa
Nature. The beautiful fall leaves, the color of the sunsets, the peaceful falling snow and beach breezes. I look at all of these amazing creations, and I know that there is a higher power. My family, prayer and the change I have seen in myself and others tells me there is a purpose and a God. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Alyssa
Doing when you don't fully understand why. Trusting Heavenly Father that He has a plan for us and continuing to follow Him. I think faith is also trusting that no matter what happens, if we do our part, the Lord is in it. Show more Show less
