Hi I'm Rachael

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 25 years old. I have moved around a lot. Partly because I grew up military, and partly because I love to travel and see the world. I have lived in, Germany, Washington, California, Nevada, Utah, Served a Mission in Ohio, and,I have lived in New York City. I have visited Idaho, New Jersey and Connecticut. I love Theater, my Favorite play Is Wicked. I love reading Nicholas Sparks books. I also love video games, and Skate Borders.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon, but even still I needed to come to my own testimony. When I was 18 I chose not to attend church anymore. For a year and a half I felt empty and lost, and was not happy. One day I was pondering my life, and I thought to myself, " By not going to church and doing what I am doing, I am calling Joseph Smith a lire. Can I call him a lire?" and I answered to myself, " NO I can not call Joseph Smith a lire. I know what he said and saw is true." Then I found a place of solitude and prayed. And I knew in my heart and soul that The Church Of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints was Jesus Christ Church. I knew I needed to start going again. I started to read the Book Of Mormon and I gained strength and a Testimony that it is true. Then at almost 22 I served a mission. I went to convert others, but I myself was converted more fully as well. I have seen many miracles in my life. I have felt the Holy Ghost Testify to me so strongly of the reality of Jesus Christ and of His Father. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and have prayed. I KNOW that just like in times of old there is a Prophet and Apostles today. I know that God loves each and every one of us. This Gospel brings peace, hope, joy, love. This Church brings a fuller understanding of the purpose of life. I love being Mormon. It has enriched and blessed my life more then I know how to share. I know that ANYONE who truly and sincerely reads the Book Of Mormon and Asks if it is true will receive an answer. For God answers all prayers. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday and not just on Sundays. I try my best to be a good example unto others. In my ward at church I have a calling. I am apart of what is called the Activities Committee. We plan Monday Night activities, known as Family Home Evening. I belong to what is called a singles ward. It is made up of single people between the ages of 18-30. Most of us live on our own so we get together every Monday Evening as a "Ward Family" We have a lesson, then play games and eat treats. I help plan for these Family Home Evenings. We also have a sports night every Thursday night that the Committee plans. We also have dances that we plan out themes for. I have one other calling in my ward. That is a calling of being a Visiting Teacher. On other girl and I go and visit 3 girls every month. I love the girls I visit and the Girl I go and visit with. While visiting the girls we teach a spiritual message, and see what their needs are and help them in anyway they need. Visiting Teaching is a way to strengthen and uplift and serve one another.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Rachael
The Word of Wisdom is a health code that we live by. We believe that our bodies are scared, and a gift from God. We believe our bodies to be temples and should keep ourselves clean, and not take in anything into our bodies that can be addictive or damaging. We believe that we all have what we call Agency or the ability to chose. If we use Tobacco, or Alcohol, they impair our ability to chose and take away our agency. In the word of wisdom we are told to eat healthy, and not to take in Tobacco, Alcohol or strong drinks. Also to eat meat sparingly, although meat has been given to us to use with thanksgiving, but just sparingly. God wants us to live a healthy and happy life, and living the word of wisdom brings us that. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Rachael
Temples are in no way Secret, but Sacred. In temples we make sacred promises to the Lord, in ways that we will live our lives. One has to be striving to live their lives in accordance with the Gospel Standards to enter. We want all to be able to go to the Temple. It is a very spiritual and special place. Show more Show less
