Hi I'm Sara

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, serving in Chicago, IL. I love this place! Before my Mission i graduated from college, studying Crime Investigation. It was fun! And i had 2 jobs, working as a secretary at my university as well as in a pizza place. Pizza in Italy is SO good! I love music! I could spend hours playing the piano or singing, or trying to learn a new instrument! Music is everything to me! You can feel the Spirit so strong through it! And i can fully express myself through it! One of my favorite experiences was being part of the choir at the MTC in Provo. I am now planning on getting a new degree in Music Education. A few things bring that much joy to me as music does! I also love learning new languages! I am now working on my English and Spanish and i took Arabic for 6 months and i loved it!!! And i love sports! I played ping pong for a national team before i came here - and i also love rock climbing, and everything that allows me to exercize, have fun at the same time and being in contact with nature - hiking, running, kayaking! Life is just so wonderful!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings joy to my life! Knowing where my Spirit came from, knowing why i am here and how i can make this time worth it, knowing how to return to my Father in Heaven - with my family, my friends and the people i love - just gives me all that i need! I was raised a member of the Church, since my parents were converted from Catholicism when they were in their 20's - i will always be grateful to those missionaries who brought the Gospel to them - and growing up i always knew that this teachings were true. When i was a teen-ager, two missionaries from my congregation invited me to share my testimony about Joseph Smith in a fireside that week-end. I then realized that even though i always felt those things being true, i had never asked God if they were and looked for an answer for myself. I told them that i could not share my testimony because - i thought - i did not have one. They invited me to gain one that week. I accepted the invitation and started to read the Joseph Smith history recorded in the last pages of the scriptures. Everyday, i would kneel down, say a prayer, read and then close in prayer again asking God for a testimony. I did not feel anything in particular during the week, but on Saturday, the day that i was supposed to share my testimony, i knelt down one more time, just after finishing reading the account of Joseph Smith and asked God with all my heart to let me know if Joseph Smith was truly a prophet. I will never forget that warm, deep and powerful feeling penetrating my heart! I felt that my room was surrounded by God's love, and i felt as if He was there, hugging me. That was His answer, confirming to me that what i always felt being true, was indeed true! That night i bore my testimony that i knew Joseph Smith being a prophet called of Christ to restore HIS church in these last days, and those feelings i had earlier were stronger in my heart. Since then my testimony has grown, and my joy is full! :)

How I live my faith

Currently i am serving as a missionary, and that is the best experience of my life! I feel grateful for the opportunity i had to prepare myself before coming out here, by serving in my branch back home! I was called to be a teacher for 3 years in Primary - which is the class for kids - and learned how to deal with them, how to simplify the Gospel enough that even them could learn it, live it and love it! That was so important to me, because i know that the foundation that kids have will influence them growing up and for the rest of their lives! I also had the opportunity to teach Institute for 3 years - which is the class for adults age 18-30. And i loved that as well because it gave me the opportunity to study and understand the Scriptures more in depth. I worked with youth through the EFY program - a wonderful program for youth 14-18, one the most crucial age, when many of the decisions we make will influence our future, and i just loved it! The truth is that i just LOVE the influence that my faith in Jesus Christ can have on other people, despite of their age. It's something that brings joy to me - because i have the opportunity to serve others and see them grow - and it brings joy to others - because they learn God's plan and commandments and how to recognize more fully His love in their lives! Now that i am serving as a full-time missionary, i feel greatly blessed for the opportunity i have to give all my time and talents in serving others! There is nothing more rewarding than this! There is nothing now to me that could bring more joy than this! "And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto Me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of My Father!" (Doctrine and Covenants 18:15).
