Hi I'm Jared

About Me

I am from Alberta, Canada and I am currently serving a full-time mission in The Utah Salt Lake City South Mission. I love basketball, volleyball, and swimming. I have five brothers and four sisters and love spending all the time I can with them. Reading and writing are hobbies of mine and my goal is to be an author in the future. My favourite colour is blue and my favourite animal is a tiger. My goal in life is to be independant and able to support my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church has allowed me to have amazing values and standards that has allowed me to enjoy life and have friends and family that support me in all of my endeavors. There has been a security and safety I have enjoyed throughout my life and the hope and faith that we are all going to live with my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and family for time and all eternity.

How I live my faith

Growing up in a small town, Wetaskiwin (in Alberta, Canada), I grew up with friends of various faith and religion was not a discussion that came up but was mroe of a lifestyle and a part of who we are. AMong the various values and standards, I have been able to express my beliefs and values through my actions. I go to church every Sunday and refrain from doing activites that take me away from my family on Sundays and allows me to have a day of rest and be able to be close to my Father in Heaven. Currently I spend my days preaching the gospel to all those who are willing to listen and also to learn from all those I see. Serving in Utah as a missionary, at first, was a culture shock and caught me off guard but now I see it as such a blessing because of the strength of the church here. Allowing me to be proud and to stand as a witness that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Our lifestyle is just like anyone elses in many cases. We are not aliens and do not have practises that would make us a cult so to speak. We work and raise families jsut like anyone else and we build these things and who we are from a foundation of values that keep us physically and spiritually safe and strong. We go to church every Sunday and throughout the rest of the week we play sports, watch movies, listen to music, and go on vacation just like any other human being on this planet. Show more Show less
