Hi I'm Neil

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 39 year old father of 3 and I've been married for 11 years to my eternal companion. I've skateboarded off and on since '87 and I play guitar in a band. I'm currently attending The University of Southern Mississippi for a degree in Graphic Design.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in prayer. After reading a small portion of The Book of Mormon I prayed to find out if it was true. I've never had a prayer answered that quickly or powerfully before or since. That told me beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is the true church of Christ and that this is where I need to be. In addition to that, I firmly believe in the leaders of the Church. There is no way to listen to God's chosen Prophet and Apostles and not know that they are chosen by him and are here to do his will. This was made clear to me the first time I heard Gordon B. Hinckley speak. I know that what Joseph Smith said is true. I know that this is the true church of Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by treating others fairly and kindly. By living the teachings of church leaders and by the teachings we find in scriptures. I teach the Gospel Doctrine (Sunday School for Adults) Class at church. This is a stretch for me because I dislike being in front of people and speaking, but I know that this calling comes from Heavenly Father and that I have much to gain by being faithful and serving in this calling. I have faith that I will grow spiritually as a result.
