Hi I'm John Gordon

I work at Grainger and go to school part-time. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 8 other brothers and sisters and a mom and dad. I am married to a lovely wife who makes me very happy every minute of the day. Everything I do I really try to think, how am I bettering her, am I strengthening our marriage, and does this bring US closer to our Heavenly Father? I am currently working for Grainger as a loader in the export department, and also going to school part-time.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Florida in a Mormon family. For the first 17 years of my life I relied on my parents testimony to help me keep going to church. During the last couple of high school years I was not making really good decisions. My grades were slipping and the connection between my parents and I was growing weaker by the day. I always knew that I was going to serve a mission for the church but was not headed down that path. One day my father helped me realize that I was not follow the path that leads to a mission. Really it was the path that leads to the Savior. I took a long hard look at my life and decided to really find out if The Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. I got my answer clear as day. That's why I am still going strong in the church today.

How I live my faith

Basically, I try to do things that will bring me closer to my Heavenly Father. My wife and I read from Gordon B. Hinckley's book, "Stand A Little Taller", every night. I try to treat people how Christ would treat people. I am currently the Ward Clerk in my ward and love every minute of it.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

John Gordon
What I did was very simple. I took the challenge towards the end of The Book of Mormon. (Moroni 10:3-5). I read The Book of Mormon and I prayed to my Heavenly Father if it was true or not. I also asked if Joseph Smith really was a Prophet of God. This is truly the best way for someone to know if "mormonism" is true. Show more Show less
