Hi I'm Mike Loveridge

I am an Internet marketing guru & adventurer. I was a world-class BMX rider and have been to Everest. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always been into adventure. In the late 80's I was a world-class freestyle BMX rider in Southern California. Left that to serve a mission for 2 years in Western Canada. I have a degree in Statistics and an MBA from BYU and have pursued a career in Internet marketing. I have worked for the movie studios in Hollywood, a presidential campaign, Intel, GE, and have had my own consulting firm. Mixed in there I have spent hundreds of nights in a tent... Alaska, Nepal, Central America, Europe, and all over the USA. I have been to Everest, chanted with monks in Himalayan monasteries, meditated in ancient ruins high in the Andes, climbed Angkor and Mayan temples, was a whitewater river guide on the Colorado River, and was a competitive rock climber. These days you can find me in my kayak on creeks and rivers of Kentucky with my dog Caiya. Life is an adventure!

Why I am a Mormon

I can't imagine life without The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There are unique and extremely important aspects to this church that cannot be found anywhere else. Because of this, I don't know how anyone survives and flourishes in our world without it. And, if they are doing well, how much better they'd be if they were part of this religion. Being a Mormon makes me happy and I want to share what I have with everyone.

How I live my faith

I had an experience years ago while trapped in a tent during a snowstorm in the Himalayas. I was reading the Book of Mormon and spending time to ponder. A unexpected and fairly dramatic 'shift' happened in my heart and mind where my passion for worldly adventure was channeled to the greatest adventure of building a relationship with God and drawing closer to Him. It took a couple years to figure out what to do with that. After the fact, I still jump at the chance to backpack through remote slot canyons or explore a good jungle cave, but my daily focus and greatest joy comes in prayer, service, listening for His voice, and observing His hand in my life and in the lives of those around me.
