Hi I'm Mary

I'm a labor doula. I'm a mom. I'm a convert. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born, raised and now live in Southern California. I'm 31 years old, been married for 7 years and have a daughter and a son. Besides the full time job of being a wife and mother, I have 3 part time jobs; I am the coordinator for a breast milk donation facility, a labor doula and a midwife's assistant. I've been a Christian since I was 12 years old. My sister baptized me at our church.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 11 years old I began going to a non-demoninational Christian church with my older sister. I loved church and loved Jesus. My sister baptized me in front of our congregation when I was 12. From that time through my young adulthood life I had built a strong relationship with God through Bible study, prayer and attending worship services. I was firm in my faith. In High School I would actually argue with my Mormon friends and proceed to tell them they are not Christians and they were wrong. At 27 I decide to have a discusion with the female Missionaries who knocked on my door. After a full year of weekly discussions (on my terms) I came to the realization that this is the only church that makes sense to me and if I asked any member of the Church the same question about what the Church believes I would get the same answer. Things that didn't seem right in other churchs I had attended were now being made right in The Church of JESUS CHRIST of later-day Saints. If you have an interest in knowing the basic beliefs of our faith I encourage you to read the Articles of Faith.

How I live my faith

Actions speak louder than words! I truely believe that if you would like people to know what you believe and why you believe it you should show them with your actions. I love to serve others and that's how I share my faith. I no longer tell people they are wrong, yet let them worship how, where and what the want.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not 'worship' Joseph Smith. He was the person who was used to restore the same church that Jesus Christ had established when he was on the Earth. After Christ and His Apostles died the Church sort of scattered with no direction of a Prophet. In the early 1800's God decided that it was time to have His Church restored and began preparing Joseph Smith (then 14 years old) to be the first Prophet in these later-days. He restored the Church through the guidence of the Holy Ghost and that is why we hold him in such high reguard. Show more Show less
