Hi I'm Lauren

I'm a wife, a new mom, I love the beach, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love my life! I grew up in sunny southern California, and am a beach bum at heart! I served a mission for my church in Romania, and loved every minute of it. Not a day goes by that I don't think about the experiences I had there! Since being home, I have worked as a behavioral therapist for kids with special needs in both a school and a clinical setting. I love being an influence for good in the lives of children! It is really a special experience when I see my students progress and overcome boundaries that they had previously not been able to conquer. I have a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders, and I worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant before I became a mom. I still plan on eventually going back to school to get my master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Behavioral Therapy, because I love learning! But for now, I am so happy to be able to stay home with my little guy. I have been married for a couple years now, and I love my husband more than ever! It makes me so happy to have my husband as a "partner in crime" from now until forever. He is my confidant, my counselor, my love, and my best friend.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both converts to the church. When they met and were married, they knew that they wanted to raise their family with the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a foundation. I will ever be grateful to them for that marvelous blessing that they provided me. From the time I was little, my parents taught me about faith, repentance, being kind, and loving and following the Savior Jesus Christ. They also taught me that I needed to read from the scriptures and pray to a loving Heavenly Father so that I could have a personal relationship with Him. I followed the example of my parents, and came to love the scriptures. When I prayed, I felt the presence of God, and knew that He loved me and knew me personally. I learned that I could receive specific answers to specific prayers, and have benefited from that often. I know that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior. He is the Way and the Light. He lives, He loves me, and when I follow Him, I am happy.

How I live my faith

I have many opportunities to live my faith every day. I have had opportunities to teach the members of our congregation different principles of the Gospel of Christ. I have served as a full time missionary in Romania where I had the opportunity to volunteer a year and a half of my life to talk to people about Christ. I have had opportunity to organize meetings and activities for the women in our congregation, and I have loved every minute! Recently, my husband and I became parents! We now have lots of new opportunities to teach our little guy about Christ and why He means so much to us. Even though our son is still very young, we are trying to teach him that he is a child of God. As we try to live a Christ-centered life, we hope that he will see our example and learn to have his own faith in Christ. As I center my own life on Christ and try my best to live my faith, I know that I receive guidance and inspiration from the Lord. When I follow His guidance, I am filled with His light, and His love. Those are things that I would love to pass on to my son, and to the people around me.
