Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, a father and a grandfather. I currently have six grandchildren, but have great hopes for more. I should have seven, but my second grandson was stillborn. I enjoy trail riding on ATVs, driving through the canyons and up in the mountains, swimming, playing basketball, making broken things work again and watching my grandchildren play sports. Not necessarily in that order. I am self employed and have been for 37 years. It has been a struggle, but I get great satisfaction when I can help others with their problems. I work with computer problems almost every day (I get Saturdays and Sundays off), but I feel that my job is helping others solve their problems.

Why I am a Mormon

Have you ever questioned the validity of the Bible? I used to wonder if the scriptures in the Bible were real records from real people. The writings have been around for so long who can confirm their authenticity? And what about those apostles and prophets, where are they today? If the world needed prophets before Christ, don't we need them much more today? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) answers these questions and any others you might ask about Christ and His Gospel. I know the bible to be the word of God because the Book of Mormon is the word of God and acts as a second witness to the Bible and Christ's mission upon the earth. We do need prophets and apostles to guide and help us and we have their teachings and messages of what our Father in Heaven wants from us in this day and age.

How I live my faith

After college I spent two years teaching others about our Savior, Jesus Christ. I hope to be able to do that again because I loved that opportunity. I currently serve the more senior men in our congregation and help them as they serve others in our community. Each month I help take a spiritual message to several neighbors in our area and do what I can to assist other priesthood holders to do the same. I enjoy attending our Sunday worship services each week where I witness the young man whom I mentor (kind of like a "big brother" but I'm more like an old grandfather figure) perform his priesthood duties as he serves others in our congregation. You could say he is performing his Duty to God. I am encouraging him to continue in that service so as he grows in gospel knowledge he will also be given the opportunity to teach many people he has never met before about Christ, His church and how it was restored to the earth.
