Hi I'm Robin

I grew up in North Carolina. I now live in California. I've had 6 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for 30 years & have 6 children (5 living). Three of my children have attended & graduated from BYU. Four of my children are married. I have 3 grandchildren & hopefully many more to come. I love spending as much time as possible with my family. I am the treasurer for a sporting goods distributor. I still enjoy playing softball & basketball especially while I can still do so with my married sons.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in North Carolina to a less-active Mormon father & a Baptist mother. When I was about 4 years old my dad started attending the Mormon Church again. So one week my brother & I would go to church with our dad & next week with our mother. Soon my mom began to notice that my brother & I, especially my brother who was 10 years old, desired to attend the Mormon Church with our dad more than the Baptist Church. This led to my mom's investigation of the Mormon Church & her conversion to it. From this point forward I was raised in strong Mormon family that taught me the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I can't say that I had a defining moment that made me realize the truthfulness of the gospel I had been taught. Rather my conversion was gradual until I felt a desire to serve a mission for the church which I served in Central America. I was taught to live the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As I have tried to do so I have gained a testimony of those teachings & of the restoration of His gospel through the prophet, Joseph Smith. I have read the Book of Mormon & can truthfully say that it contains the gospel of Jesus Christ & is a second witness, along with the Bible, of His divine ministry & His sacrifice for us.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in the Church. I have been privileged to serve as a bishop. I currently serve with those that teach the youth & children. I have taught the youth (young men) in the past and enjoy working with them as they try to establish their own testimonies. As mentioned earlier, I have 5 living children & enjoyed raising them. I was very involved with them growing up as they participated in baseball & soccer, especially my boys. At some point my girls got involved in dance so I have supported them even though I couldn't assist in this as this is not my forte at all. I have still enjoyed watching them grow, progress & improve their talents in this activity. Even though most of our children are now married we still have one at home we both still have the opportunity to work with & teach the youth. This has been our joy to teach them & watch them develop into wonderful young men & women.
