Hi I'm Shawn

and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at BYU-I studying Computer Science. I am a convert to the church, and have been a member for 4 years now. I am from a small town in Tennessee and I served a mission in Salt Lake City, Utah. I enjoy the outdoors and video games.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church in June of 2009. I started investigating the church because I had friends who were members of the church and they always seemed happy and always had a smile on their face. It started off with just asking my friends questions and they were always willing to answer. What they told me really interested me in learning more so I asked for a Book of Mormon. After reading for awhile I decided to start going to church. Going to chuch for the first time was such an amazing experience. People there came up and introduced themselves and took the time to get to know me. That's something I've never experienced at any other church. I could tell they really cared about me and weren't just faking it. Finally the missionaries started to come over and teach me. It went pretty slow because I had a lot going on at the time. One day they asked me if I would be baptized. I was a little scared at first because I didn't know if I was ready but I said I would. I continued to pray and ask Heavenly Father if this is what I needed to do. Then one day it dawned on me, I had already received my answer. I knew that the Church was true and I knew I needed to be baptized. Finally I was baptized on June 27, 2009 and It was the greatest thing that had ever happened to me. I felt all my sins washed away and I had stared my life over, clean and on the right path. I know this Church is true, I know that the Book of Mormon really is the word of God, and I bear you my testimony that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and the Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving in the Utah Salt Lake City mission and I couldn't be happier. I love it out here, I love helping people to come closer to Chist and I love doing the things that the missionaries that taught me did. They set the example for me and it's been great fowling in their foot steps.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

When missionaries visit your home, they will teach you about Jesus Christ and how through Him, we can become clean from our sins. They will also teach you about our Heavenly Father's Plan of Salvation, which is his plan for us to return to live with Him. The missionary purpose is to invite all to come unto Christ.
