Hi I'm Dennis

I have seven beautiful grandchildren, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love doing family history, and have approximately 22,000 names in the computer, half my family, and half my wifes family. I also enjoy playing golf, and watching college football. I'm a Florida Gator fan.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church by loving parents, but my own conversion came a few years later. I always believed what I was taught, but I needed to find out for myself. I continued to read the scriptures and to pray for direction and guidance. It really wasn't all that dramatic, but a feeling of calm and assurance in what I prayed about convinced me of the truth. I know that Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration, and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am the Branch President of the oldest Mormon church in Georgia, and like many others of our faith, I try to attend all meetings, live the word of wisdom, and to treat others the way I would like to be treated. I do my best to emulate the Savior, but I know I fall short in many ways. I love my Father in Heaven and his only begotten son, my Savior Jesus Christ.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We believe that every soul that has come to the earth and gained a mortal body will have the oppurtunity to return to live with our Father in Heaven. If by some circumstance an individual did not have the oppurtunity to have this ordinance done during their sojourn on this planet, we do it for them. Read 1st Corinthians 15 Show more Show less
