Hi I'm Ryan

I am a Southerner, an Alabama football fan and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dad and an attorney in southeast Tennessee. I grew up in the Deep South and am firmly committed to my faith, my family and my alma mater's football team. Roll Tide! Stacey and I have been married for over sixteen years and we are the proud parents of seven children. At times, our family receives a few curious glances and awkward stares in public. Sometimes, I am the one curiously glancing and awkwardly staring. I find happiness in many things. I find true joy in my family and in serving others. I find more joy as I slow life down and focus on those things that are most important - my faith in Christ, my family and service.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a fourth generation southern Mormon. My paternal grandfather was baptized in the late 1800s. All of my grandparents were members of other faiths before finding and converting to the Church. I have many uncles and aunts and cousins who are Mormons and many who are not. As long as I can remember, my parents were always active Mormons, attending Sunday services and serving faithfully in positions in the Church. I have seven brothers and sisters, some of whom have continued my parent's traditions and others who have not. They are all good men and women. I have continued because, over time and through many struggles, I gained a personal testimony and witness of the divinity of Jesus Christ and of the calling of his chosen prophets. I find peace in the comfort that can be found only in the Atonement of Jesus Christ and I find better understanding and explanation of the Atonement as I study the words of living prophets. As imperfect as I am, through study of the Scriptures and the words of living prophets, I know that I am saved and that I will be exalted if I prove faithful to the testimony and witness that I have received.

How I live my faith

It seems like we are always serving in our home, in the Church, or in the community. And I love it. In my mind, there is no better way to show our love for God and His Son, Jesus Christ, than to serve others.
