Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in Missouri and now work in North Dakota. My wife and I have twin girls. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of twin girls. They are our first two children so we don't know any different than having twins. They are so much fun for us. My wife is my love and enjoys baking and doing "projects" that I think are major undertakings, like building furniture. I enjoy reading all the most recent news I can find online or locally. Basketball, soccer, tennis, and running are sports that I enjoy. Maybe one day I will be a coach for my girls or a future son of mine. Learning golf is on my list of to dos, but I have played very little. I enjoy watching college football. I grew up watching Notre Dame, graduated from BYU, and attended a semester at MU so those are the schools I will often watch. We don't have cable in the home and do everything through the internet. So netflix, espn3 and hulu are big in our home. I am a manager for one of the largest small package shipping companies in the world, but would enjoy working with startup companies again in the future. I vote republican most often, but wish there was a different party from dems and reps that better represented my views. I often lean towards Ron Paul, but I am still looking for something different. Maybe one day I will personally run for a smaller public position. Over all, life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

The Lord teaches us that by the fruits we will know them. I am a Christian because I have continually applied the teachings of the Gospel in my life and I have seen the blessings that come from trying to be like Jesus. I participate in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of how God operates. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If that is what one believes, then one would look for the same patterns of old in todays world. God, since the beginning of time with Adam and Noah, has always called a man to lead his people (a prophet). He gives that prophet authority to lead his people. Today, there is a prophet that has that authority and I follow God's pattern to learn from those He has called to lead. I am a Mormon because that is what people call us as a nickname:)

How I live my faith

We try to be very active in the community. At church I work with the boys aged 12-14. I prepare Sunday School lessons for each Sunday and then we have one night a week for activities. We work together to learn to be better men and follow the Savior. I am also the Scoutmaster and so we work on merit badges and go camping, fishing, etc. It is nice to see the boys grow in positive ways while working with them.
