Hi I'm Bill Griffiths

I was born in Utah, grew up in Oregon and lived in Israel and Russia. I am a car enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 5 children, ages ranging from 15 to 3 years of age. I am a flight instructor, and program manager for FlightSafety International. I have traveled to and lived in places like Voronezh, Russia (teaching english for 4-7 year olds), Jerusalem, Israel (studying Old and New Testament), and Gold Coast, Australia. I also served a 2 year full-time mission for my church in South Carolina. Now I live in a suburb of Atlanta Georgia. I grew up as a boy scout loving the outdoors in Oregon and have continued that tradition of outdoor life for our family in the South.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon for my entire life. I had good parents who taught and modeled the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have found through experience that when I try and live and pattern my life after Jesus Christ, I am happy, have patience, and hope. Life and all its bumps and craziness are manageable, doable. Priorities are clearer, and staying true to those principles become vital to my personal and family's happiness. I also believe that I must seek out, honor and be obedient to truth. In the Bible, the Gospel of John, chapter 14 verse 26 it states, But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. I trust in these word implicitly. I believe that we are to embrace truth where ever I find it.

How I live my faith

Each day is filled with work, family, and church duties/responsibilities which requires a selection of the best things that I can do to with my time. First I am a Husband to my super-duper wife, a Father to my children, who I try and set the best example for (when I am not--I do my best to make amends with them). I look in on different families within our congregation each month. Those visits allow me and our lay ministry make sure that any needs are being met. My oldest son who is a freshman in High School attends an early morning Bible study class. I am usually the one to take him there 5 mornings per week before school starts. I enjoy any opportunity to serve my "neighbor", whether that might be visiting someone in the hospital, chopping down trees, or be a listening ear. All of it helps me be happy.
