Hi I'm Alison

Once a skeptic, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from the U.K. I knew two national churches there, but was not satisfied that they were churches of God. In London I noticed a chapel of the Mormon Church but never went inside, as I found it impossible to entertain the possibility that a "modern" American church was authentic. God, however, had other plans for me that I discovered when I went abroad to work.

Why I am a Mormon

The Spirit emanating from the LDS missionaries I met in Vienna bowled me over. I actually knew then and there that the message they had was for me, that they represented my Heavenly Father, and that this church must be God's church, the one I'd hoped for my whole life. When I came to read the Book of Mormon, the pages to me radiated the Spirit of God, and I felt like shouting the Good News from the housetops. Each successive year that I have been a member, I have received greater and greater evidence of the love of God and of his Son, Jesus Christ, and of the divine authority vested in the leaders of this, their church..

How I live my faith

I study daily; I pray; I attend Sunday church meetings and temple sessions; and I listen faithfully to the words of my leaders. I try to put into practice in my life the principles these sources teach, which are based in the personal attributes and teachings of Christ. I seek for personal revelation when needed, and I am privileged to serve in callings in the church--at present to visit and bless an assigned set of female members, to be leader for a den of Cub Scouts, and to help people piece together their family history. I have found that the many different callings I have received over the years have tapped my talents, expanded my capabilities, and enriched my soul. I am incredibly grateful to have found what I truly believe to be God's church, led by his holy Son, and I love how this church gives opportunity for vocal expression of testimony.
