Hi I'm Josh

I grew up in California. I am a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a simple background. I am the second of six kids in my family. You could say we never really had a place we called home because we moved around so much. To give you an idea of how much we moved, I went to 8 different elementary schools, 4 middle schools and 5 high schools. I was always the "new kid" and constantly had to re-situate myself in new environments. Through all this change in my youth, the one thing that remained constant was that of having the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. Though the schools, scenery and faces changed, the power and influence of Christ in my life greatly blessed myself and my family. Now, as a member of the armed forces, I realize that my childhood prepared me for the kind of lifestyle this career demands of its members. Yet the same holds true in my life today of the one constant beacon I can always turn to, that of having a lasting relationship of my savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I often ask myself this, why I call myself a Mormon. I honestly don't have a definitive answer other than I believe in God and Jesus Christ. It's like trying to explain to someone why you love your mom or other close relative dear to your heart. You love them because you feel it in your heart. I am a Mormon because I feel in my heart of the truthfulness of the teachings of this church that bring me closer to my savior.

How I live my faith

One mistake at a time, but I know the Lord helps me each day. I just need to put my trust in Him and I know He won't leave me.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

The term "cult" tends to be used as a derogatory word that describes unorthodox worship practices and beliefs of a generally unknown or misunderstood group. I think people tack this term to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in an effort to degrade and discredit the church's stance as a Christian church, mostly because they do not know what the church teaches.
