Hi I'm Al

I am a automotive business owner and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Since I picked up my first wrench I fell in love with the automotive field especially the older muscle cars. I thrive for the obvious. The pure sound of horse power and the torque at the wheels. I had my share of the 50's and 60's American muscle and I have to confess it is in my blood. I have learned the automotive upholstery trade and am a owner of a automotive accessory shop that provides leather installs, sunroofs, and 12 volt mobile and security in most application of vehicles. Don't get me wrong I have my hobby special as well when the time permits.

Why I am a Mormon

I found upon learning the auto trade in my back yard that much of my learning required simple common sense. I have wonderful parants who taught me important principles however it wasn't until I started putting common sense to the Mormon teachings that had me come to realize its truths. I experienced a greater satisfaction by focusing on spiritual values rather then worldly pleasures. I admit it took faith like rebuilding my first engine but once I applied myself I recieved a wonderful satisfaction. The sound of a quarter miler screaming down the track is a wonderful sensation for me and I have great pleasure in this but what I find even greater then this pleasure instead of participating on a Sunday at the track is serving fellow saints in the Gospel and developing my spiritual values. Upon discovering this I chose to serve a mission so that I could help others to come to know and feel the way I do. I answered peoples questions such as is there a God and what is our relationship with Him. Does He acknowledge our prayers. I can truly testify that God does answer prayers. I experienced it and I cannot deny it. I know that Jesus has again estblished His gospel with prophet and apostles and that the priesthood authority that he gave to his apostles while He ministered here on earth has been restored. Speaking of common sense if God had prophets in the old world and he commanded them to keep a record of his teachngs that being the bible would it not make sense that if there were a people who live in the Americas that he would also call prophets and also command them to keep a record. I testify that He did and this is the Book of Mormon. Besides common sense I prayed about its truthfulness and I recieved confirmation not by a voice but by a wonderful feeling of love that I have never experienced before. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior and I appreciate most humbly the blessings that I and my family recieve daily as I strive to live the Savior's gospel principles.

How I live my faith

The wonderful thing about serving in the Mormon church is the responsibilities that we accept and the spiritual satisfaction that we enjoy. I am a councilor in the Bishopric and I am responsible for our youth ages 14-16 and our primary from ages 03 -12. just to name a few. I am also a home teacher. This gives me the opportunity to offer spiritual and temperal blessings to a certain no. of families that I am assigned. As well I am in charge of the co-ordination of the local community food bank. As members we reach out to the community for their support to provide food donations for our local food society. Nothing that I have mentioned is employement but is a service that we delight to give and we truly enjoy the blessings that comes by serving others. The Savior taught" Let your light shine before men that they might see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven". Our Savior's entire ministry was focused on His example and teaching to others and by that example desired his followers to look unto the Father. Just the same we seek to have others by our example to draw closer to our Savior and Heavenly Father. Another opportunity of service that we hold to our hearts is the blessings to serving in the temple of the Lord. My wife and I are married for time and all eternity as many Mormon couples are and our daughter sealed to us for all eternity. How is this possible is not a difficult question to answer. No not at all. Not once you come to know the eternal plan of happiness.
