Hi I'm AJ

I love music and reading. I call NZ home. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the only girl in my family! I have 5 brothers who I love and respect dearly. My mum and dad split up when I was 11 so we were largely brought up by our mum. It was hard at times, and we grew up in a small town which has about 15000 people. That meant I was one of very few LDS teenagers at my school. It was the example and teachings of my mum, YW leaders and church friends that helped me stay active at such a crucial time in my life. I have since graduated university with a degree in addictions studies - this helps in my work with youth. I believe the simple answer to all the worlds problems is THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was "born and raised" as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I was blessed as a young child with an understanding that what I was being taught is in fact true! I have always believed in God and Jesus Christ and had early experiences with feeling the Spirit. I choose to be an active member of His church simply because I know the gospel is true and my life is better when I live it. Many people look at the teachings as restrictive and think that our lives must be so boring - the opposite is true. The commandments are given to us so Heavenly Father can bless us! My life is busy and fun!

How I live my faith

I am the Young Womens President in my ward - that means I watch over and teach the girls aged 12-17 who live in our area. I love working with them, they have so much potential and so much faith. I like to go with the missionaries to teach people who are interested in learning more about the church. I served a mission in Brisbane, Australia for 18 months and it was such an amazing experience. I will always have a special place in my heart for the people I served there.
