Hi I'm Cami

I grew up in Boise Idaho. I like playing sports, reading, and having fun with my family.

About Me

I taught Elementary School before my first son was born. I enjoy the simple beauties in life like giggling with my children and taking walks on a beautiful fall day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a home by nurturing parents who taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I was 15, I wondered for myself if Joseph Smith really did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I prayed to Heavenly Father on my knees one night, and asked him if Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I had a warm peaceful feeling come over me. I knew through my tears that indeed everything that my parents taught me as a child was true. This was one of the happiest moments in my life. I knew that the church of Jesus Christ had been restored by the prophet Joseph Smith. I knew that there was a living prophet in our day who was led and guided by Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I pray and read the Book of Mormon individually and as a family. My husband and I are teaching my two year old son how to pray. He loves to sing "Jesus songs" as he calls them and requests us to sing his favorites. I love teaching him about the Savior and about the prophets in the Book of Mormon and in the Bible. He is still very young, but I am always surprised at how much he remembers. I love to write in my journal, and reflect on the many blessings that Heavenly Father has given me. I feel that when I express my thanks in prayer, I feel closer to Heavenly Father. I go to church every Sunday with my family, and teach the 10 and 11 year old class. We are studying the New Testament right now. We studied the Old Testament last year.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Cami
We believe that God has a body of flesh and bones. We are created in his image. We have a loving Heavenly Father, who is the Father of our spirits. He sent his son Jesus Christ down to earth to show us the way back to Him. We can have the Holy Ghost, a member of the Godhood with us always as we try to do what is right. Show more Show less

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Cami
Husband and wife are to love and care for each other and for their children. When Christ is the center of their life, there is more harmony, love and peace in the home. Husband and wife are to respect one another, cherish one another, serve one another, be faithful to one another. Children feel safe and secure when parents strive to treat each other kindly.
