Hi I'm Amber

I grew up across the beach in Hawaii, and now I live out in the country in Wyoming. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and a mom of 4 kids. I love being at home during the day with my kids and raising them. I have a very supportive husband who watches the kids in the evening so that I can be a tutor at a boys and girls group home with troubled youth. Even though I'm currently not using my bachelors degree in Elementary Education, I'm grateful for the time I get to make a difference with the youth of community.

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to be a Mormon because it keeps me safe from a lot of pitfalls in life. It gives me guidance in times of trial through reading the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. It also gives my children a chance to learn good values and how to be a good person in society. It has an emphasis on Christ and his teachings, and that is who I aspire to be like. I also really enjoy the fellowship of other members through the church activities and the home visits from other members of the church. I feel like I'm a part of a community who cares about me and my family.

How I live my faith

I love how I am able to participate in my church by being a leader of the women of the Church. I get to know each woman and share in their joys and sadnesses. I organize meals for those that have been in the hospital, or struggling spiritually. I help organize activities for the women of the church, like cooking classes, playgroups, craft nights, social dinners, and spiritual meetings. It's brings me joy to enter the homes of the women and be able to lighten their lives through a simple visit.

In whom should we have faith?

Amber
Our faith should be focused on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Everyone will have hardships in their life whether they are religious or not, but having faith in the Lord will help us realize that if we make good choices, we will be able to get through anything. We can be strengthened, encouraged, and supported as we live as the Savior would live. It is only through Him and by living His teaching that we can find true happiness. Show more Show less
