Hi I'm Irma

I'm a veteran of the United States Army Nurse Corps. I served during the Viet Nam War. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother. I'm married to my best friend. I love music. I love doing genealogy. I love to cook but I like simple foods. I love the color yellow. I love to read. I love to meet new people and make new friends.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 11 years old the missionaries came to our home. Before I met them I had questions. "Where are the apostles like Jesus had? How can God and Jesus Christ be the same and not the same? Where is a prophet today?" I would ask, but no one seemed to be able to answer these questions. I was often told to stop asking questions! But, the missionaries told me there was a prophet on the earth and that there were also 12 apostles, just like Jesus had. They also taught me that God is the Father and Jesus Christ is His Son. I knew what they taught was true because it make me feel so good. Later, I learned that this was the Holy Ghost testifying to me. Though it has been many years, I still remember what I felt the day I was baptized. I felt warm all over and just could not stop smiling. I knew pure joy. That feeling has come to me many times in the years since that day. I know Jesus Christ is my savior. I know He lives. I know He knows me by name and that He loves me.

How I live my faith

I teach a Sunday School class and love it! We study the scriptures and I get to learn so much from my preparation. I love the scriptures. They bring me answers to life's challenges and questions. I do not always understand what I read, but it always makes me feel good to read the words of the Lord. I also play the piano and organ for my branch. I love the feelings I get as I play the hymns about Jesus Christ.
