Hi I'm Ashley

I am a single mother who loves to write poetry and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very loving, fun and compassionate. I have a son that I love with all my heart and I love spending time with my family and friends. But I also love meeting new people and learning more about them. I guess you can say I'm a social butterfly. :) I am a Flight Administrative Assistant for the U.S.A.F. and I am in the process of completing my business associates degree. Then I will continue my education to eventually become a Child Psychologist because I love helping children and being there for them. Plus I don't think there are enough Child Psychologist out there.

Why I am a Mormon

One day the missionaries knocked on my door and my life was in total disarray. I had recently stopped going to a protestant church because I was feeling as if I was not getting anywhere and became discouraged. So my son and I began taking lessons from the Missionaries. After our first lesson I asked Heavenly Father if the book of Mormon was true. It wasn't until speaking with the missionaries at our second lesson that I realized I had a testimony. As a child I was always confused as to what my purpose was and what I should be doing to better my life as a christian. Even after becoming an adult I felt as if my life had no purpose. It was very discouraging and I found myself jumping from church to church to fill these empty feelings I had. Something was definitely missing. Reading the book of Mormon gave me this overwhelming feeling of being whole as if I had finally found what I had been searching for all this time, my purpose. From that day forth, no matter how big or small my trials were, I always knew my purpose and what plan Heavenly Father has for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving everyday to become a better christian and realizing that I still have so much more to learn. I pray daily, and study my scriptures. I ask, in prayer, for answers to my questions and for guidance in my life. However I am still learning to sit still long enough to receive an answer. lol We sometimes become so busy with life that we forget to stop and smell the roses or watch the sunset and listen for Heavenly Fathers answers. The path that I have chosen was not easy socially, as many of my friends and family didn't understand my decision to be baptized into this religion that they knew little about. But rest assured they will all see how much happier I am even amidst my trials. The true gospel of Christ leads us to peace in the middle of the storm.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

New members are baptized for remission of their sins and to receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost. We are also baptized to enter the Celestial Kingdom. It is also for each member to show obedience that you are ready and willing to follow Christ wholeheartedly. "Jesus said, “Whoso believeth in me, and is baptized … shall inherit the kingdom of God. And whoso believeth not in me, and is not baptized, shall be damned” ( 3 Nephi 11:33–34 )." Show more Show less
