Hi I'm Sandy

I was born in Tennessee, grew up in Ohio, and retired to Alabama. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a grandmother of six children - 2 to the west and 4 to the east - we travel a great deal. To pass the miles we listen to book on audio. I retired several years ago and enjoy life. I crochet for fun, visit friends and read. We swim daily for exercise. I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

We had attended church only sporadically as a family while our daughters were growing up. I just could not connect with any of the numerous churches we visited. The people were nice enough, the services were pleasant, the pastors were kind, but it was hard to get excited about joining any of them! My daughter joined The Church of Jesus Christ before I did. She brought the missionaries into our home many times over a period of two years for a visit, for discussions, and prayer. I had already read "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" (The Book of Mormon), and had prayed about it. But I wasn't ready to receive the answer. One day I invited the missionaries for lunch. I sent them out to see our new little pond while I finished setting the table. I looked out the window, saw them standing there in the sun, and knew I had found the answer. I went outside and asked them when I could be baptized. I love this Church! Joseph Smith, the first prophet in these latter-days, is my hero. It is wonderful to know that we have a prophet on the earth today to lead the Church and its members.

How I live my faith

Sunday is "God's Day". The 6th commandment tells us to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. I attend Church meetings, attend the Temple, and serve as a secretary. I am also a visiting teacher. My friend and I call on our sisters at least once a month and offer our service to anyone who needs a helping hand, a hug, or just a smile.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Sandy
God is the same, never changing, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. To me, it is simple. If there were prophets on the earth anciently, why wouldn't there be prophets today? Show more Show less
