Hi I'm Jason

I'm a pharmacist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from pharmacy school and got my pharmacist license. I enjoy movies, music, skiing, tennis, traveling and being with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught and raised in this church ever since I was a young child and so my first real opportunity to really decide for myself whether or not I should continue to believe and follow this gospel occurred a few years ago. I had been accepted to a pharmacy school in Pennsylvania and so I left the comforts of home and moved to a foreign place where I didn't know anyone. I felt lonely, homesick and totally out of place! My classmates, teachers, and coworkers had very different standards and activities that they participated in. At this moment of time it was a gut-check situation in which I had to decide whether remaining a Mormon and keeping the standards was cool or not and should I bag the Mormon lifestyle and join the rest of the crowd just to fit in. Fortunately, I stuck with the gospel, like the saying goes "If it ain't broken why fix it?" Just like in life we make a lot of decisions, a lot of times we have to take a leap of faith and try something new otherwise we will never know if it is good or not, whether it makes you happy or not, whether it can be relied on. Well I have tried to live this Mormon lifestyle and I liked it. It's not all glamorous and popular at times, but I am happy. At first my new peers thought I was weird, but in time these same peers became my friends, they accepted me and respected me for living the gospel. They could see that I was normal and that I enjoyed similar hobbies that they enjoyed and that I also had to study a lot and at times struggle with exams. I did well in pharmacy school, I wasn't the top student or even close, but overall I did my best and succeeded! Now I have a good job, wonderful family and friends. On the other hand there are times where it seems like nothing is going right for me, but it's this gospel that teaches me how to get back up and not be discouraged. It teaches me to believe and do my best and things will work out. This gospel has provided me peace and hope in times of despair. It has provided direction when I've been lost and confused. Some say it's all good but it's superstition. As I've mentioned before how do I know it's real and not some feel good story to please my mind? Well I've tried it and I know that a Heavenly Father lives. That He loves me and cares about me and wants me to succeed. He has a plan that if we follow we can be happy and the coolest part about it is- yes it's real! I have seen blessings and results and that's why I am a Mormon and have continued to be so.

How I live my faith

One of the principles that is very important in our faith is to "Love one another." That means to love our family, friends, those of a different race, those not of our religion and even our enemies, so basically everyone! I have read to refugee students and helped them with homework. I have gone shopping with less fortunate kids so that they may have presents during the Christmas season. I have asked for and collected drug vials from numerous pharmacies and donated them to the homeless shelter. Our Savior Jesus Christ was all about service and that's what He would want me to do for the rest of my life.
