Hi I'm Dezra

I am a mom, a wife, a pharmacy technician, an amateur radio operator and I'm a Mormon

About Me

My family is everything to me. I have a ward, or church family, a work family and a biological family blessed with the sweet personalities of several foster children we have had the opportunity of raising in the past. I love my husbands sense of humor and his great cooking to name a few things, playing badmitten with my son, joking with my daughter, walking my dogs, and spending time with friends painting, watching a movie or the like. I enjoy riding my 600 cc Silverwing Honda and being part of our emergency communications group with amateur radio. I enjoy the many people I work with and meet at my job as a pharmcy technician.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but we are all encouraged to study, ponder, and pray to gain our own personal knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel, witnessed to us through the Holy Ghost. I love being a member! Our family is so greatly blessed, both in tangible and spiritual ways when we follow Christ and are obedient to his teachings. I honor Joseph Smith for restoring Christ's gospel to the earth once more and am thankful the Lord gives us prophets to lead all of us on the earth today (see Amos 3:7). The Book of Mormon is used WITH the bible as another testament of Christ. I know Christ died to save us from our sins and that we can be clean again by repenting and being baptized. I hold my membership in the church dear to my heart and could go on and on. You don't get answers by reading what others say about us-I encourage you to find out for yourself by going straight to the source. Missionaries and members all serve willingly to build the kingdom of God and share the joy we experience with you. I wish words could express the feelings I have when I see a new member make the choice to follow Christ. It is a spiritual high on life. We are an unpaid ministry. Jesus loves us all unconditionally. The gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints can provide you peace, joy, truth, answers, a forever family, and ultimately eternal life. These are some of the blessing that Christ freely gives when we strive to follow him. They can not be bought yet they are priceless. Satan would have you believe differently and works 24/7 to destroy all he can. Christ welcomes all who sincerely desire to follow him and you too will be blessed.

How I live my faith

We are a service oriented and covenant people. Some of the positions, called "callings" that I have had the opporunity to serve in include: the nursery, the scouting program, working with the youth as a teacher for ages 3-12 and being a ward missionary seeking to build the kingdom of God. We fellowship, visit the sick, teach, and try to serve by helping our fellow man regardless if they have been baptized into the church. It is wonderful to have so many brothers and sisters to worship with every week who share the same values and come to worship Christ. Of course their are many activities throughout the year such as our wards annual October Chili & chowder cook-off, followed by wholesome games and/or activities for the family and the evening ends with trick or treating which we call "trunk or treat" to encourage decorating the cars in the church parking lot so the kids then come around for their goodies in a safe environment.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Dezra
I gained a sure testimony that God, his son Jesus and the Holy Ghost are three separate beings when I was 18. I read and studied or pondered the scriptures, talked to the missionaries, prayed and fasted. My answer didn't come right away but when it did, I KNEW without a doubt and the experience is one I will never forget. The Holy Ghost can whisper truth to all who seek it. It is often not a vision or voice, but the Holy Ghost is real. I like the way one member likened the Holy Ghost to the sun. There is only one, but it can be felt by all. Show more Show less
