Hi I'm Rose

I like to play racquetball, go 4 wheeling in the mountains and spend time with my family! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife. I am a friend. I'm a mother of 5 boys, ages 13 to 21. I am a caregiver for a 19 year old son with cancer and an 89 year old mother-in-law and the above mentioned husband and boys. I went to college and trained to be an EMT. I love my family, friends and neighbors. I have learned that everyone has a dream, as a child of how their life will be at the optimum happiness level. When our lives don't turn out that way, we are disappointed. What we do then, determines whether we have a fabulous life, or a sad life. Which will you choose?

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because it makes me happy! Simple as that! Mormon doctrine teaches us to follow the example of Jesus and to follow all of the commandments, not just the convenient ones. The Mormon Church has high standards, I love that! We are taught to be charitable and to love our neighbor, no matter what religion or race, I love that! We are taught to have integrity! Who doesn't love that? We are taught to love our families and that families are so important! I love that! We are free to choose, free agency is very important...sometimes I don't like this one so much, where it applies to my children, but it is God's plan and He knows best. We are taught to be self sufficient...wouldn't the world be in a much better place if everyone had the attitude that they would take care of themselves for better or worse, in sickness and in health, till death do they part? Sometimes that choice is taken from you and you have to rely on others, but more often than not, if we are prepared, we can take care of our selves and our own. I don't believe all the church doctrine blindly. I am an intelligent woman and I have questioned and researched the things that I believe! What I have concluded is that living the high standards of God and of the Church makes me HAPPY! I feel loved and accepted by God. I feel peace! Does everything go my way? Absolutely not! However, lots of things do...I am very blessed! I have challenges, just like you! I am grateful for the challenges God has put in my life! I have grown so much! Give cancer to me...no big deal! Give cancer to my child...now I have to trust that God knows what's best for my child...and all the others that it affects! Why am I Mormon? Because it makes me happy and I have peace and love in my life! My prayer, is that whatever religion you believe and are a part of, you can have God and Jesus in your life, and feel that same peace and love that resonates in mine! May I leave you my testimony, that I know that Jesus Christ is real, that He lives and loves us, and He wants us to follow Him, so that one day we can live with Him in heaven. I bear this testimony in His name.

How I live my faith

I have spent the past 7 years teaching children. I taught the Wolves (age 8) in cub scouts for 4 years, then taught Primary (Sunday School) to 6-8 year old children. I love visiting several women in our area every month to check and see how they are doing and give them love and support. I am currently helping people in our neighborhood do their genealogy. I love singing songs in our church choir! The people in our church are like an extended family! They are always there for me while I am the caregiver to a child with cancer and a live-in mother-in-law, age 89. I, in turn, try to be there for my friends and neighbors when they need my love and support.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

What if your family could be connected to each other after you die? For me, heaven would not be heaven, if I couldn't be with my family. Till death do you part? How sad! No wonder there is such grieving when people die, because when they were married they only committed to each other until they die. I once took a cruise without my family. It was heavenly...but not. All the people were very kind and nice to talk to, the food was fabulous, there were people there to take care of my every need, except my need to love and to be part of a family. I love my husband and children very much...so much that I hope we are together as a family...after we leave this earth. That would be heaven. In the temple, they have to authority to do this. It is also God's house. There is peace there in the temple. Imagine that prayer is like a phone call to God. How much nicer is it to go to His house and talk to him. Have I seen Him there? No. Have I felt His spirit there? Yes, every time. It feels like Love. Show more Show less
