Hi I'm Sarah Hawks

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student. I am studying Special Education. I love reading, I read anything science fiction, fantasy and dystopia novels. An example of dystopian novels are hunger games, the giver, and many more. I also enjoy being outside, especially when it is a nice day, outdoors I enjoy running, biking, hiking, and taking pictures. My favorite scenes that I take pictures of are rivers, lakes, oceans. Water always adds to the beauty of the pictures. Another thing that I enjoy is use American Sign Language, I have a couple of cousins who are deaf, I learned sign language to talk to them. I love American Sign Language, used it as a missionary plan to use sign language as a way for students to learn to communicate and also interpret as a side job.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since I was a kid. When I was 21 I served a mission for the church. I started in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission, was there for five months, and met many people and taught them the gospel. Than I was transferred to the Oregon Portland mission to use American Sign Language. I was there for thirteen months. I gained a stronger understanding of what gospel of Jesus Christ meant and a better understanding of his sacrifice for us to live. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, it takes place on the other side of world than the Bible did, and that shows that the Lord loves all his children and wanted them to hear his words no matter what side of the world that they lived or live in. Now that we have better means of getting information across the world we have the Book of Mormon in many different languages. It goes hand in hand with the Bible, it doesn't add to or take away from the Bible.

How I live my faith

There are many ways that I live my faith. I have daily personal study of the scriptures and I pray often for the spirit of the Lord to guide me and direct me throughout the day. I have a couple of assignments that I do for the church in my area. These assignments involve updating the computer system to make sure those in my congregation have their callings in the church system. Also I am in charge of making sure that my fellow members are attending the temple and doing their family history.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Sarah Hawks
Mormon's do not practice polygamy. There was a time when they did but that was a long time ago. When they practiced polygamy and when they stopped that was because the Lord commanded through his prophets, who are his mouthpieces. Show more Show less
