Hi I'm Alex

I'm from Utah. I am a college student. I love sports. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently studying finance at a university in Utah. I have lived in Utah my whole life except for two years that I spent serving a full-time mission for the Church in Mexico City. I love the Mexican people. I love the outdoors: I enjoy hiking, biking, playing all sorts of sports and doing anything where I can see the wonderful creations of our Heavenly Father. I stay busy between studying, working, and having fun with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a seventh generation member of the Church. I have grown up in the Church my whole life. It as always been the foundation of my family's life. However, I needed to know for myself that this is true and that this is the foundation that I wanted for my own life. When I was a teenager I always thought that this testimony would come as a large heaven-sent answer. But after I had read the Book of Mormon several times, I came to the realization that Heavenly Father had been answering my prayers quietly throughout my whole life: when I went to Church, when I read the Book of Mormon, when I said my prayers, and many other times Heavenly Father bore witness to me through the Holy Ghost that this Church was His kingdom on the earth. I had slowly developed this testimony. My testimony grew substantially as I served the Lord as missionary in Mexico. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that through His atonement we can become clean and return to the presence of our Heavenly Father to live with Him there. I know that this Church is the true and living church. I bear testimony that God leads us today through a prophet, Thomas S. Monson. This testimony is what drives me to be the best I can be and makes me find happiness in this life!

How I live my faith

I feel it is so important to live your faith by serving others. Apart from my day-to-day activities, I look for ways to serve. I am a mentor to youth in the community, helping several kids with all aspects of their lives, from school to big decisions that they make. I also am involved with the local members of the Church, serving as the clerk of our ward. Serving others in these capacities has helped me grow my faith as I have seen the love that the Savior has for those that I serve.
