Hi I'm Reed
I've lived half my life on the east coast and half on the west coast. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I've been a member of the LDS church all my life. I grew up on the east coast living right outside of Washington, D.C. In Alexandria, Va. I served a mission for the church in Peru from 1974 till 1976. I loved Peru and it's people and will return one day to this beautiful country, especially to witness the growth of the church over the past few decades. I have 5 wonderful children and 5 grandchildren, but I am certain that number will continue to grow. For most of my adult life I have lived in various parts of Southern California including Burbank, Garden Grove, Orange, Thousand Oaks, Woodland Hills and now Camarillo. I love my east coast upbringing and have a special place in my heart for the Washington D.C. area, but I also love California. Outside of Virginia and California I have lived for very brief stints in Arizona and Michigan.
Why I am a Mormon
I continue to live the "Mormon" lifestyle because it has brought me great happiness and balance. While those are blessings of being a practicing Mormon, the real reason why I am a Mormon is because I have received a spiritual witness of the divine purpose of this life and how I fit into the eternal plan of a loving Heavenly Father. For all of us, life can bring difficult challenges. I too have experienced setbacks and difficulties, like everyone. However, my faith has been an anchor to me and I feel that the teachings of Christ that form the basis of LDS faith have provided the foundational support that have seen me through these challenges
How I live my faith
I adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ by trying daily to treat others as I hope to be treated. Selfishness is at the core of many trials today and I believe it is important to give back and to act with honor and integrity. I am fortunate to be married to a wonderful woman and I try to make sure she knows each day that she is an inspiration to me. I believe that we learn the greatest lessons of life in the home and being a good husband and father are the most critical responsibilities I shoulder. I love my family and believe that I can be with them for the eternities so my thoughts, words and deeds while here on earth need to reflect the love I feel for each of them. To spouses, children and grandchildren, love is measured by the TIME we spend with them. I try to focus time and attention on each of them that I can to make sure they know of my love for them.
