Hi I'm Elizabeth

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a wife and mother. I'm an accountant and graduated from college with honors when my first-born was 10 months old. I'm a life-long learner that loves to read about any and everything. I love to travel and while funds do not permit world-wide traveling, that is my dream! My favorite "hobby" is my family and I've tried to make my home a heaven on earth. I've been a stay-at-home mom for several years while my children were small and have recently returned to work part-time. And I love to laugh!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and grew up in the church. I have never doubted the truth of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and have always believed and trusted in the teachings of my religion. However, as a young adult I had to decide if I was truly committed. I had to rely on my own testimony and not the testimony of my parents and church leaders. Through my own personal prayer and scripture study my faith has increased and my testimony has grown. This is God's restored church. The Bible and The Book of Mormon both testify that Jesus is the Christ. The heavens are not closed! God speaks to His children and guides His church through a living prophet! These truths help me as I strive to keep an eternal perspective throughout my life. Life can be so hard sometimes. Without the gospel of Jesus Christ, life would be unbearable!

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. I pray, read my scriptures, and do my best to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Just those three things make me a better mother, daughter, sister and wife. I find great joy as I strive to become more Christlike in my actions, my words, and my thoughts. We are a volunteer organization which means no one gets paid. Currently I serve in my church by playing the piano for the little children of our congregation. Every Sunday for two hours the children aged 3-11 meet together and learn about Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Gospel. They learn this through lessons, games, and music. Also, my husband teaches religious education and scripture study to the youth age 14-18 in our home every weekday morning before school - 6 a.m.! This is quite a challenge but the blessings our family has received because of it is immeasurable. And what better way for these young men and women to start their day than by putting on the armor of God to help them and protect them from physical and spiritual harm?

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Elizabeth
The Mormon Church teaches that families are forever! Heavenly Father is a loving God and wants His children to be happy. To me, there is no greater happiness than the knowledge that I can have my husband and my children with me forever. I married my husband "for time and all eternity" instead of "till death do you part." Our children are "sealed" to us forever and if we keep God's commandments and stay true to Him, we will all be together again after we die. Show more Show less
