Hi I'm Todd

I am blessed with an amazingly rich life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of 4 great kids, a mid level manager over a great engineering team, a musician and a strong supporter of Scouting. I enjoy doing activities with my family and friends including service, camping, fishing, hunting, and skiing. I love working indivdually and with others to serve others and support that which is good in the world around us. I find that helping others generally brings great joy and satisfaction. I believe the majority of people in the world are good and also find joy in doing good.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that I am a child of God and not simply the result of evolution or "survival of the fittest". I believe God loves all of his children and wants us to be happy. He has given me intelligence to understand choices, an inner light to feel what is good and right (or not) and agency to make my own choices. He has also provided commandments that if followed generate true love and avoid painful experiences. I know that often the most growth will come from trials and struggles which can be the result of making poor choices (mine or those of others). A fundamental part of the "Good News" which is the gospel is that God, through Christ, provided a way for his children to overcome the separation we create through wrong choices. We can return to God by accepting Christ through covenants and by keeping his commandments. As we do, we grow to have more and more love and to be more and more what God wants us to be. I believe that God's true church provides these key things 1. Chioce 2. Guidance (Commandments, Conscience, and the Holy Ghost) 3. An atonement to provide mercy and yet satisfy the demands of justice. 4. Priesthood and Covenants that bring Gods power into our lives and bind us to him 5. Good Fruits that come as a result of following the teachings of the Church. I have found all of these in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As I listen to and read the teachings of the church and live them, I find true happiness. The Holy Ghost confirms they are true. I have witnessed miracles through the power of God's Priesthood. I believe that God has given me my life for a purpose and that I can be happiest by aligning my choices to his will. The Church provides a framework to understand and live His will and I am blessed to be a part of it.

How I live my faith

Each day I try to do my best to be a good influence in the world. I start with my wife and children. I want to be the best example that I can for them and to serve them and show them my love through my actions and words. I try to teach them correct prinicples that will bring them joy. I have made covenants with God at Baptism and in the Temple such as to take upon me the name of Christ, keep His commandments, always remember Him, and to serve others. I try to keep these covenants each day and to renew them each week by partaking of the Sacrament. I provide service to those in my community through providing leadership in Scouting. This past year was very rewarding as I watched 16 of the young men I have worked with earn their Eagle Rank. I am also teaching children the gospel and encouraging them to read the scriptures and gain thier own testimonies of the truthfulness of the gospel.
