Hi I'm Terry

I live in Arizona and love the Lord. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful wife. We have 6 children. Five of them are married. Our youngest is 17 and we have 12 grandchildren. I like the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting. Our family loves to camp together. I am a general contractor. I build new custom homes or remodel existing ones and i love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is true. My parents joined the Mormon church when I was about 6 years old and we started attending church for the first time in my life. Weather you are born a member of the Mormon church or you join later there comes a time in your life when you have to find out for yourself if the churchis true. That time came for me when I was 19. I started reading the Book of Mormon and each time before I would read I would pray for understanding but mostly I just wanted to know if it was true. After I would read I would pray again. This process went on for several weeks. During this time I would also think about what I was reading in my efforts to try and understand what I was reading. One night after I had read and then said my prayers I was laying in bed with a prayer in my heart as I was thinking about what I had just been reading. Something began to happen. I started to have a warm burning sensation starting in my chest it was a warmth that is difficult to describe. The warmth continued to move and fill my whole body. At first I didn't recogize what was happening. Then tears filled my eyes as I understood that my prayers had just been answered. The Spirit of the Lord wispered to me in my mind it is true. This of course was a life changing experience. I am greatful to my Heavenly Father for hearing and anwering those prayers and many others since then.

How I live my faith

I am just like anyone else trying to live my life in a challenging world. I serve others the best I can and look for those opportunities. In the Mormon church there is no payed ministry so each of us have a chance to serve. I have 2 families that I along with my 17 year old son are assigned to visit each month. We do this by visiting them in their homes bringing them a spiritual message. We also ask how they are doing with their employment and any other needs they may have. In this way we try to help each other. It is a blessing to have this opportunity to serve others.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

The easiest way for me to answer this question is to say that we are saved by grace after all we can do. We have a part to play or a price to pay if you will concerning our salvation. We have to be doers of the word and not just hearers only. We have to be the very best we can be and the grace of God will make up the difference.  Show more Show less
