Hi I'm Mark

I enjoy all sport (especially soccer), traveling and playing the piano. Recently started MBA school and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from a major university in the fall of 2008 and am just starting MBA school and will graduate in the fall of 2012. I've lived in the USA for pretty much all my life except 2 year I lived in Germany. While there I developed a love for different cultures and have since returned a few times and have also visited south east Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, & Cambodia). I enjoy traveling and meeting people from around the world and learning their culture and what makes them who they are. In my freetime I love to play sports. My favorite is Soccer but I play pretty much every sport, recently I've learned to Rock Climb and scubadive. One sport I have wanted to try is skydiving oh and I am an inconsistent golfer but love the sport none-the-less. For the past 5 years I've been working for a microcontroller company in the finance department and am working towards getting a career in corporate finance.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon my whole life but eventually came the questions. Why am I a Mormon and do I want to be...? For me the answer was the knowledge, understanding, and Joy that it brought into my life. Answers to such questions as: What is the purpose of life, why am I here and what happens when I die? Is this life all there is? why is there suffering and pain? and why did this... happen? Is there even a God? Knowing that there is a God that loves, understands what I've been through or am going through, and is in my corner always willing to help me has brought me tremendous peace and joy. From knowing the answers, I have more hope in the future, strength to overcome disappointments knowing that there is someone that knows what it is like, understanding and love for others knowing each person has great potential, and a lot of happiness.

How I live my faith

The best way I know to live my faith is to become the person that my faith teaches. It is in the service towards other people that I feel I am close to Christ. It is easy to become overwhelmed with one's own problems but it is in the service towards others that even one's own problems are resolved or made easier to bare. I have worked with many people to understand their needs and desires and have find ways to help them in whatever ways I can to. Recently I've helped organize the emergency plans and procedures for members in my area. I have also taught groups of 5-15 in different gospel topics and joined with others in moving and home repairs.
