Hi I'm David Barnes

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just starting out in life... I recently graduated from Utah State University with a degree in business. I currently working for my first employer after graduated in Human Resources. I enjoy learning anything new, reading, cooking, and spending time with my family. I also like the outdoors (hiking and fishing). My wife and I just found out that we're going to be parents for the first time (we're so excited!)

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I learned the doctrines/teachings of the church and then asked God if it was true through prayer. He answered my prayer and told me that it was. After that time, I decided to follow the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to the best of my ability. I have seen the gospel of Jesus Christ change my life and the life of my family. I know that there is a God and that he is our Father in Heaven. We are literally His children and He loves and cares about us. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. He suffered for all of our sins, died for us, and then rose again so that we all could live after our death in this life. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of my faith. God is the same yesterday, today, and will never change. He has always communicated and taught his children through prophets. He uses prophets to teach, guide, and lead us today. There is a living prophet on the Earth today. When Jesus Christ was on the Earth, he setup his church and gave authority to his apostles to run the church. After his death and the death of his apostles, there wasn't anybody with authority on the Earth to administer the church. The people of the Earth fell into "spiritual darkness." After centuries of living in this condition, God restored His original church to the Earth through the prophet Joseph Smith in 1820. Knowing all this gives me great comfort in such a troubled and fast-paced world. How great it is to know that the windows of heaven are open and God talks with his children. It's awesome to know where I came from before this life, why I'm here, and where I'm going after I die. I'm grateful to remain with my family forever. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ gives this all to me.

How I live my faith

In my neighborhood ward, my wife and I teach a Sunday School class of children. I also strive to help my family and neighbors wherever and whenever possible through service. I strive to follow and be like Jesus Christ the best I can.
