Hi I'm Reesa

I love yoga. I love to ride my bike. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful man whom I love and adore. Our biggest adventures have been hiking and exploring the natural wonders of Utah, riding our bikes 550 miles along the California Coast and continuing to adventure with a growing family. I am a mother to the sweetest soul who brings immeasurable joy to our lives. We're expecting our second little explorer Spring 2016. I've learned that true joy and happiness comes from family. I love being active and exploring the world around me. I believe the best things in life are not things, but rather experiences. I strive to find joy in doing, rather than having. The practice of yoga has taught me the importance of living in the present and appreciating the current moment. I have found yoga to be a most effective way of connecting my physical and spiritual self while reminding me of the importance of finding time to be still. I teach yoga classes several times a week and find joy in sharing this practice with others. I try to find the best in everyone in the world around me and in the events that compose my life. I feel so passionately that life is most fulfilling when you spend it doing what you love, with who you love. I am happiest when I am outdoors, practicing yoga, riding my bike and spending time with my dear family. I love surfing, traveling and exploring. I love to laugh like most people do. I expect to have deep laugh lines and many wrinkles when I'm an old woman as evidence of a well-lived life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because it brings me happiness. A happiness that can only be found through our Savior Jesus Christ. I know why I am here and I know where I am going. I know my purpose in life and I am excited for the future because of that. In such a pessimistic world I find hope and reassurance that God wants all of His children to truly be happy and find joy. There is nothing in this world that can substitute for the fulfillment I receive through this gospel. The challenges of life become more bearable knowing that Christ, my Savior, will never leave my side. There is a purpose in all things, both the good and the bad. I've found that the only times I'm sincerely at peace are when I make God my first priority and when I am diligent in keeping the commandments and following the counsel given by our prophet today. Through this gospel, I have come to know that God loves His children more than we will ever be able to comprehend. I am continually learning to see life through spiritual eyes and recognize the good in all things.

How I live my faith

I attend worship services every week, but I truly live my faith day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment. Faith is a series of choices. I make the choice in the morning to try again to do my best for the coming day. I pray morning and night and anytime in between. I strive to make time to study the scriptures and try to find ways to serve those around me. I surround myself with good and fill my life with positive influences. I try to remember that this life is a gift given to me and that my time is best spent in the service of God. I am continually striving to improve and move forward and do what God wants me to do.
