Hi I'm Rob

I grew up in Idaho. I love my wife and four daughters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dad of four girls. I've been married to my wife for 14 years. I work in the financial services industry. I love playing tennis, hiking, and camping. I am just finishing an accounting degree.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I gained a testimony through missionary service in South Korea. Through teaching others about the Gospel, I came to know the truthfulness of its teachings. I have learned that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior, the scriptures (the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine & Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price) contain the Word of God, there is a living prophet that is on the earth today to provide us needed instruction through difficult times, and that through faithful adherence to the doctrines of the Gospel we can return to live with our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Simply put, I try to live in a way that will make my Heavenly Father proud. Jesus Christ is a an example I try to follow and the Gospel teachings provide a template that I can use to structure my life in a way that allows for success.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Rob
After Jesus' resurrection, all of his chosen apostles were persecuted and killed. Even though the Bible remained on the earth, some plain and simple truths of the Gospel were lost and no priesthood leadership remained. We believe that this period, known as the Apostasy, was a time of confusion and while people may have looked for the truth, Christ's true church was not on the earth. In 1823, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in response to his inquiry about which church to join. This opened a new dispensation and allowed Christ's true church to be re-organized and once again be established on the earth. I'm grateful that Joseph Smith had the courage to ask a simple question and the faith to act on the answer. As I think about my own studies of the Bible, without the Book of Mormon and modern day revelation it would have been much more difficult to understand. Also, what clarity it has brought to my own life about what God wants for me and my part in his plan. Show more Show less
