Hi I'm Alan

I'm a Mormon. I'm a father of five, grandfather of four and just a regular guy who loves his family.

About Me

I love doing things outdoors; especially hiking, bike riding and an occasional game of golf. When I can't be outdoors I enjoy reading all types of books, especially biographies and history books. I also have a passion for acoustic guitar music and classic rock and roll.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors joined the Church during the early days and I was fortunate to be born into a family that was active LDS. I was baptized when I was eight mainly because it was expected of me and it wasn't until I was about 19 that I gained a strong personal witness. I have found that living the principles that are taught in the Church have created a strong foundation for me to face the daily struggles that often come as I deal with the challenges of raising a family and earning a living.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the ward executive secretary. It is a blessing to see the amount of service that is given generously by the leaders and other members of our congregation. I also have the opportunity to serve as a home teacher to several widows and it is a wonderful chance to learn from their depth of experience and wisdom.
