Hi I'm Heather Gemperline

I'm a BYU student studying Dance and Math Education. I love to dance and I love school.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am student at BYU studying Dance Education and Mathematics Education. I am originally from Farmington, UT. I am the oldest of 5 children and I LOVE my family! We like to camp, ski, play speed scrabble and travel together.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents helped me gain my own testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel through church attendance, temple trips, family home evening, prayer and scripture study. Therefor I am a Mormon, not only because I'm an obedient child who follows my parents guidance, but because I know for myself that Jesus Christ is my Savior and his gospel is true. I gained this testimony through spiritual experiences with my family, at church and in my own spiritual study. In these experiences the spirit has testified to my heart of the truthfulness of the words I read and the words I hear.

How I live my faith

I teach the women in my ward lessons in Church on Sunday. I enjoy preparing lessons on gospel principles for my friends and neighbors. Studying the scriptures and words of the prophets reveals so much truth to me I believe I learn more than the friends I share my lesson with. I am also a visiting teacher. My roommate and I are visiting teaching companions and we visit and share a gospel message with two sisters in our ward. I really love those girls! On Sunday evenings I drive the Sister Missionaries in my area to their appointments and help teach lessons to those investigating our church.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Heather Gemperline
The prophet has asked that all young men serve missions at the age of 19 for two years. In order to fulfill this commandment young men need to stay clean, worthy, strong and healthy to be able to serve the Lord. The prophet has also asked that more senior couples engage in full time missionary work if their circumstance allows them to give up work and other responsibilities to serve the Lord. There is great value in having women serve missions at age 21, but it is not a responsibility given to the women of the church. I believe everyone is a member missionary. Even though I am not a full time missionary I am continually praying that I can have missionary opportunities in my own area (even here at BYU in Provo, UT!) The Lord has answered my prayers and I have had the opportunity to share the gospel with amazing people here in Provo by going out with the Sister Missionaries and by becoming friends with international students.
